CAIRO – 27 March 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent has participated in sending a 1,000-ton shipment of urgent humanitarian aid to Lebanon, reinforcing Egypt’s efforts to support the Lebanese people amid the ongoing regional war and the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict in southern Lebanon.

The shipment, which arrived at the Port of Beirut, includes food baskets, medicines, medical supplies, and relief items aimed at meeting the basic needs of more than one million displaced Lebanese citizens affected by the ongoing displacement crisis. The aid was delivered in cooperation with Tahya Misr Fund, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Health, and the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House.

The shipment was officially handed over on Thursday at the Port of Beirut in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, in implementation of directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The move comes as part of Egypt’s continued support for the Lebanese people during the crisis.

In this context, the Egyptian Red Crescent affirmed its commitment to its humanitarian mission, working in coordination with state institutions to support relief efforts and respond to international crises, while strengthening solidarity with affected nations.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 1,142, with 3,315 people injured amid ongoing military escalation across Lebanese territory.

The ministry noted that casualties continue to rise due to sustained airstrikes and military operations, highlighting the intensity of clashes in various regions.

It also warned of a worsening humanitarian and health situation, citing severe pressure on hospitals and the healthcare sector as the number of casualties continues to increase.
